Angel Tree at POP

Angel Tree is back—and we need volunteers! Through Prison Fellowship Angel Tree, Prince of Peace will come alongside children and families impacted by incarceration to share the love and hope of Jesus this Christmas.

Angel Tree needs all kinds of volunteers—and delivering gifts is only ONE way to help! Whether you’re a people person or a behind-the-scenes person, there’s a place for you. We need help contacting families, organizing Angel Tree Cards, shopping, collecting and wrapping gifts, praying, helping with final organizing of gifts per family, and yes, delivering gifts and connecting with families.

What is Angel Tree?

Through Prison Fellowship Angel Tree, churches come alongside children and families who have been impacted by incarceration. At Christmas, Angel Tree gives us the opportunity to remind these children that they are loved, remembered, and not alone, while helping strengthen the connection between children and their incarcerated parent.

But Angel Tree is about so much more than presents under a tree. It's about relationships. Hope. The love of Christ. It's an opportunity for our Prince of Peace family to step outside our walls and serve families in our community in a very tangible and meaningful way.

Why Does It Matter?

For a child with an incarcerated parent, Christmas can carry some very complicated emotions. Angel Tree allows the Church to enter into that space with compassion and the message that Jesus sees them, loves them, and has not forgotten them. And while it may begin with a Christmas gift, the impact can reach far beyond Christmas morning.

Let's show these children and families what it looks like when the people of God show up with love.

How Can I Help?

Family Contact Team
Help contact caregivers to introduce Prince of Peace, confirm their participation, verify information, and learn about the children's Christmas gift wishes.

Angel Tree & Organization Team
Prefer working behind the scenes? Perfect! Help prepare Angel tags, organize information, set up our Angel Tree, keep track of which Angels have been selected, collect gifts, and help make sure every child is accounted for. Specifically preparing tags and tracking cards, setting up the tree, and collecting and storing gifts in its program process.

Gift Wrapping & Preparation Team
This is a great choice if you'd rather serve at Prince of Peace than go out into the community. Help organize, check, wrap, label, and prepare gifts so everything is ready for our Angel Tree families. We request that people wrap their own gifts each year however we always need help with the gifts that don't get wrapped.

Gift Delivery & Family Connection Team
These volunteers will help get gifts into the hands of Angel Tree children and represent Prince of Peace to their families.

Prayers
You don't have to make a phone call, wrap a present, or deliver a single gift to make an important contribution. Pray specifically for our Angel Tree children, their caregivers, their incarcerated parents, and the volunteers serving them.

Not Sure Where You Fit?
