We welcome many new members into the Prince of Peace family every year and we want to welcome you, too!
You can discover what membership is all about by attending a Newcomers' Reception or our Doorway, and Core classes.  You'll meet the Prince of Peace staff, discover our Mission & Vision, Core Values, and Core Ministries, and learn the basics of the Christian faith.

The Newcomers' Reception

The Newcomers' Reception is an opportunity for you to meet Prince of Peace pastors and staff members in a relaxed, conversational setting.

DOORWAY class

The DOORWAY class is a multi-session orientation for all newcomers to the Mission & Vision, Core Values, and Core Ministries of Prince of Peace. The class is offered during the Sunday School hour, several times throughout the year and is intended for everyone, especially those considering membership at Prince of Peace. Coffee and refreshments are provided for participants and children aged three through high school are invited to attend Sunday School classes downstairs during this time. Nursery care is also available in the Church Nursery for children ages two and younger, and can be arranged through the Church Office (703)451-5855.

The Core: What We Believe

The Core: What We Believe class gives an overview of the basics of the Christian faith as taught and confessed in the Lutheran Church. It is highly recommended for those not currently members of a Lutheran congregation, and is helpful to anyone seeking information about the Lutheran expression of the Christian faith. Those wishing to transfer their membership from another Lutheran congregation are also encouraged to attend.
