DOORWAYS

Leader/Contact:  Pastor Richard T. Hinz  and Judith Meyer, Minister of Discipling (Church Office – 703-451-5855 or email – pastor.rich@poplc.org or judith.meyer@poplc.org )

Summary:  DOORWAYS is a Sunday morning class held periodically, as announced, primarily to prepare adult newcomers for Prince of Peace membership.  The three means of grace recognized by Lutherans – Gospel, Baptism, and the Lord’s Supper – provide the theological foundation for DOORWAYS.  Current members frequently enroll, as well, to deepen their understanding of Lutheran theology and the ministry path of Prince of Peace.

At the conclusion of class session, participants

·        Come to an understanding of the Christian Faith as professed by Lutherans

·        Articulate the story and significance of their own faith journeys

·        Understand and connect how the present building facilities and organization aid the pursuit of the congregation’s ministry goals

·        Have an opportunity to participate fully in the mission and vision of the Prince of Peace Lutheran Congregation by receiving an invitation to become active members.

·        Receive help in connecting with other Prince of Peace servants in a nurturing  ministry

To enroll:  Check the current Christian Education Lineup for the next announced class.  Attend the first announced session to enroll.  Class enrollment for each class is normally closed after the first meeting. The instructor will make the final determination about late enrollees.
