Spanish Language Mission Development
Spanish Language Mission Board has met 3 times, last at PoP April 20th. Rob Winston and Karin Wieting are the PoP members of the Board. They are establishing the 3-congregation covenant for approval at June Voter’s Assemblies of each congregation.

Planning Team: Scott Risser, Penny Urps, Shirley Dewitt, Karin Wieting, Rob Winston.
As part of Ablaze, PoP will vote on committing to 2% of the PoP budget to support the mission, $36k in FY09 starting July 1, 2008.
Open Arms Lorton – PoP Prayer and Planning teams being formed, people contacted, meeting planned TBD date.
A recent large bequest could give this a big jump start.

Grow Ministry to Students – Joel and Karin have accepted calls. The options for space to support this ministry growth are being explored, Space Options Committee has met once:

Example space; property address 6208 Rolling Road. 2,400 sq.ft, asking $30 per sq.ft. per year => $6,000 a month.
Bridges of Hope – Bridges of Hope Vision and Mission statements are complete. They are moving toward forming pilot groups. Planning on leader training session for PoP School, Sunday School, VBS, and other children’s class leaders. VBS this year will also be using some Bridges of Hope methods. From these efforts, home group leaders will be identified to start in-home children’s prayer and Bible study groups. The PoP members of the team are Phil Morrow, Pastor John and Chris Meissinger.
